Started contact with Buckhead on 7/30/24. When we originally called we said fix anything that needs to be fixed, as long as they told us the cost beforehand. There is a skylight in this area, we told them that we didn’t think that was cause of leak but they are the professionals, so we don’t know. They sent a quote of $850 for roof repair, paid half upfront to be put onto schedule. Kept being put off, wasn’t put on to the schedule until multiple calls/2weeks later. First repair team came and used old flashing material out of a trash pile in our yard. At this point, we hadn’t paid the other half of invoice because we wanted to make sure the work was done right. We checked behind them with a water hose after the tar and adhesive had time to set. When the roof still leaked, we called again. It was hard to get into contact, but when we did they were astounded we checked behind them and when they came back out, they said it would cost more money… $800 more and said they would “try” to get us a discount because we were repeat customers. We refused since we were within the warranty time of contract which stated, “This document warrants that should a defect in workmanship, related to the work completed by Buckhead Roofing, occur within 5 years of the project, Buckhead Roofing will complete repairs within the original project’s scope of work at no charge to the customer.” They had a person come out to inspect the original work. The guy said he didn’t see anything wrong with the work that was done. But, they came out again, this time a different crew. The roof still leaked after they left. Upon finding this out, we contacted them again and they said they would come out again. When they came out for the 3rd time, they siliconed everything, which is not a proficient repair. They also used incorrect colored shingles. They ran water down the roof while working to see if it was still leaking. He said it was leak free as he left. We saw more damage and leak points after he left than before. They accused us of damaging the silicone by wetting it even though that’s what their employee did, then said it was frustrating that this hasn’t been figured out. The manager or whatever person we were talking to blamed the fact that we couldn’t get into contact with him by saying he had a funeral and that he is “always on the phone”. When we asked for a refund they said they would like to come out for a 4th time, we stuck to our request of getting a refund. We were told we would be reached out to by Michael. We were Never contacted so we called Michael and he said he would get it initiated. We called a week and a day later and he said he would get it started. A man named Sean called and said they saw nothing wrong with the crews work. We still wanted refund and he said he would get it initiated. On 09/11 we called again and spoke to a woman and she said it would hit our account by end of day 09/11 and if not call next day. We called the next day and they said they were in a meeting. It still has not been started as of 09/12. Have been asking for refund since August 29 and multiple phone calls. Business lacks communication and workmanship. When we got another company to come out, they said that they normally don’t speak ill on other companies but that this one siliconed everything and that it would’ve not held up, the repair was horrible, there were lumps in the shingles, the ice and water shield was not put on correctly nor covering everything and that they haven’t seen such a horrible repair in a long time. I’m not writing this review to say everyone will have this experience, but that I would hate for anyone to have to deal with this unfortunate company and feel the way we have. We filed a complaint with the BBB and they tried to get us to remove reviews but I feel that since they have mostly 5 stars I should warn people about the not seen parts of their company considering they try to tell people to take down the reviews. We are VERY displeased with this company and would NEVER work with them or recommend them at all.
